Blog Guidelines

Word count maximum: 500 words. We suggest keeping the word count to 200-400 words to be the most effective. Fewer than 150 words are also discouraged.

Being that this is Christian website with an emphasis on biblical authority, we respectfully ask that the blogs maintain a strong element of Christianity (i.e. don’t blog about your cats and dogs and what they did todaynot that that is not important). Keep in mind that something you say, could be used of the Holy Spirit to work in the lives of the unsaved or even help strengthen the faith growing Christians.

Since biblical authority is a key, then a corollary is a relatively young age of the earth due to the genealogies and Exodus 20:11, and so on. So any blog pushing for geological, astronomical, or biological evolution will be rejected (e.g. big bang, millions of years, molecules-to-man evolution, death before sin, pre-adamites, etc.). This is not to say there are not biological changes within kinds or geological or astronomical changes, but keep in mind the biblical limits. After all a literal historical Genesis is foundational to the Gospel of Christ and since the biblical writers took Genesis in this fashion, so should we Christians. We understand that with the bloggers that there will probably be enough theological differences to sink most of the worlds fleets. So, it may be wise to stick to topics that most Christians could benefit from. Believe it or not most Christians could agree on topics in a great many instances. A good guideline is the Answers in Genesis Statement of Faith .

Be presuppositional as opposed to evidential in your apologetic. Do not use arguments Christians shouldn’t use (see here ). Beware of adding to Scripture. God has spoken in the Bible, and you need to exercise caution about saying things like “God said to me ‘. . . xxx . . . .’” And also stray away from conspiracy theories.

Does this mean that we ask people to avoid denominational differences—not necessarily. but we ask for bloggers to use discretion and in all their comments honor Christ and if treading on that borderline, be as biblical as possible. Keep in mind that various denominations have various views on ranges of topics (Calvinism vs. Arminianism, church government, various eschatological views, modes of baptism, Lord’s Supper, etc.) and these topics are important, but are usually meaningless to many non-Christians. So we simply ask for discernment when you write blogs—this may not be the best place to argue denominational differences.

Another area to be cautious is politics as well as areas that may cross boundaries such as defamation and liability. Remember, you are responsible for your comments and as Christians; you need to be above reproach as an example to the world.

Also bloggers, feel free to link to your personal websites or church websites, but please don’t add your email address in your blog. Images in blogs aren’t allowed

All submission will be considered for blogs; though, preference is given to new blogs, not repeats from previous or current blogs to prevent double posting. If they are not selected, they will not appear on the site nor will you receive a response that they have not been selected. To see if your blog submission has been selected please check back from time to time on the I Am Not Ashamed website.

Please send any blog to blog[at]iamnotashamed[dot]org . Each one will be read and if acceptable, will go through a brief editing (looking for grammar, spelling, etc.). Blog rules subject to change without notice.
