We have all read the verse Romans 1:16—“For I am not ashamed of the gospel, for it is the power of God for salvation to everyone who believes, to the Jew first and also to the Greek. That verse is the basis of this amazing movement that has berthed in the United States. I believe the most critical question I had when I saw this site was how to apply it to my life today. I shall share some thoughts that will clear this question up.
When the church first started, the disciples showed boldness in preaching the gospel of Jesus Christ to all peoples, unapologetically and without compromise. Boldness was considered incorrect in the day and time of the disciples and that situation has not changed.
Parallel the world of the early church and the United States today. Both have an inclusion of all religions and nationalities. Sin was widespread in the past as it is now. There’s something different today in the world we live in. We as Christians have for a long time, stood on the sidelines. It’s time to ask God for that same courage the disciples of the early church had. It is time for Christians to with joy and gladness to go forth and fulfill the Great Commission as Jesus mandated in Matthew 28:19-20.
In closing, the strongest Gospel anyone can speak is with their actions. Consider the words of St. Francis Assisi: “Preach the Gospel at all times and when necessary use words.” (http://www.brainyquote.com/quotes/authors/s/st_francis_of_assisi.html)
God Bless you in this time of Easter. Remember our Lord’s death and resurrection. Celebrate and rejoice in the birth and promise of our hope that Jesus Christ so graciously gave us.
